Security Courses - ACMDS - Access Control Management (Deploy Security Equipment)

About The Course

Course Objectives:
This course specifies the Abilities (A) and Knowledge (K) required by the security supervisor to interpret the security plan, deploy the equipment and supervise the security personnel for access control, alarm monitoring and CCTV monitoring.

Course Content: The course contains the following Abilities (A):
A1- Deploy and activate access equipment in accordance with organisation procedures
A2- Conduct briefing and site orientations of the access control equipment to security personnel
A3- Verify and respond to security personnel’s reports on unauthorised entries
A4- Carry out routine checks on security personnel & equipment to ensure manning & serviceability levels for critical equipment
A5- Report equipment faults or repair requirements to maintenance contractor and ensure remedial actions are taken
A6- Prepare and maintain records and documentation
A7- Recommend adjustments in deployment of access control equipment


Medium of Instruction:  English.  Only participants with 100% attendance will be eligible to sit for the examination.

Course Duration: 12 Hours. Day 1: 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 2: 9 AM to 1 PM

Assessment will be conducted by POLWEL. Assessment format: Role play – 60 mins, Oral Questioning – 30 mins.

Entry Requirements

Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
Assumed skills and Knowledge: Learners, who signed up for this unit, are assumed to have the following skills and knowledge: Able to read, listen and speak in English at ESS Level 3; Able to read a computer monitor and see at a distance; Process basic skills in operating a computer; Truthful and Honest; Sense of duty and responsibility on the Job; Disciplined and able to follow instructions when given. Dress code: Shirt (long or short sleeve), Pant (No jeans), Black shoe.

Physical and Medical requirements: Participants should not have colour-blindness and hearing impairment and must be physically fit to work as a Security Officer. A Medical certificate, issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner, on the above physical and medical requirements, must be submitted along with the course registration form.
