Learning Objectives:
1. Identify legal obligations in workplace safety and health
2. Identify hazards in a factory: fire, explosion, falling from heights and falling objects, safe access, chemicals, mechanical, electrical, radiation, material handling, working in confined space and specialized operations
3. Recognize all types of industrial safety signs
4. Apply for safety permit prior to hot work
5. Put on personal protective equipment (PPE)
6. Take safety precautions when working with different hazards as stated above and other emerging hazards such as heat stroke, infectious diseases, ergonomics etc.
7. Respond in case of fire or emergency
Registering foreign workers for AWSMW course with passport number: We could not upload the AWSMW course test results, to MOM website, using participant’s passport number. The results can only be uploaded using their work permit number. As such, please register the workers with their work permit number, so that we can upload the test result to MOM website, upon completion of course. Please note that, the employers could not apply for work permit issuance/renewal of work permit, if their worker’s AWSMW course test result is not uploaded to MOM website. Also, please be informed that, a replacement fee of $30 is applicable to reprint the card, with the participant’s work permit number, which was originally printed with the passport number.
Trainees must bring along any one of the following documents (photocopy or original) to be allowed to attend the class.
Work permit or IPA and Passport or NRIC / S Pass / Employment Pass.
Trainees must wear Safety Shoes and properly attired (No Singlet/Shorts/Bermudas).
Trainees with 100% attendance will only be allowed to sit for the test. Late comers are strictly not allowed into the class
Medium of Instructions: English, Mandarin, Myanmar, Thai, Malay, Bengali, and Tamil.
WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.

With effect from 1 Jan 2024, online based assessment shall be instituted, instead of hard copy assessment. The photo capturing of trainee(s) using proctoring system will be done, while the online assessment is in progress.
