About The Course
Course Aim: This course enables an individual who have valid WSQ forklift license to refresh the skills and knowledge to operate forklift in the industry.
Learning Objectives:
Operate Forklift (In person):
1. Prepare to carry out forklift operations,
2. Inspect forklift,
3. Carry out forklift operations,
4. Reinstate and hand over forklift,
5. Carry out forklift operations (Practical).
Online Training (Asynchronous e-Learning for 7 modules):
1. Relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Legislations / Singapore Standards SS573, applicable to forklift operation, 2. Refresh on the correct interpretation of the Load Chart,
3. Forklift Stability,
4. Pre-Operational & Post Checks on a Forklift Machine,
5. Techniques and requirements for safe operations,
6. Highlights on the common safety lapses by forklift operators and the consequences,
7. Safety Rules (Do’s and Don’ts).
Lessons (7 modules): 3h 15 min, Formative Assessment (Quiz): 45 min. Learners must attain at least 60% for each end-of-module quiz to proceed to next module. If learners fail, they must restart the module.
Legal Requirement: Forklift Operator Refresher Training mandatory with effect from 1 January 2027.
All forklift operators must: a) Attend Forklift Operator Refresher Training at least once every three (3) years after completing the initial WSQ Operate Forklift Course; and b) Attend Forklift Operator Refresher Training at least once every three (3) years after completing the previous forklift refresher training.
Entry Requirement: Trainees having valid WSQ forklift license.
Learner’s profile:
Trainees must:
• be able to interpret work instructions and technical information,
• be able to listen, speak, read and write English, and be able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3, or PSLE qualification
Course Duration: 11 training hours + 1 assessment hour (theory and practical). Online Theory @ 4 hours via asynchronous e-learning covering 7 modules inclusive of 45 mins of Formative Assessment with 4 MCQs per module. 1 day workshop @ 8 hours [ 4 Case Study (4 hours) + Forklift Practical (4 hours inclusive of 15 mins for practical assessment per trainee]. Learners must attain at least 60% for each end-of-module quiz to proceed to next module. If learners fail, they must restart the module.
The learners MUST complete 4 hours pre-course e-learning. at-least 1 day before the In-Person course date, to be allowed to attend the In-Person class. The e-learning login details will be emailed to the learners 7 days before the In-Person course date.
Attendance requirement: – 100%. Medium of Instruction: English.
A safety card/pass will be issued upon successful course completion.
