About The Course
Course Aim: This course enables an individual to have valid WSQ Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 and to become a qualified Food Handler.
Learning Objectives: 1. Practice good personal hygiene. 2. Use safe ingredients. 3. Handle food safely. 4. Store food safely. 5. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and premises.
Target Audience: WSQ FSC Level 1 Certification: Food handlers working in either retail or non-retail food establishments that are licensed by the SFA must obtain WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1 certification. This course ensures that food handlers understand basic food safety and hygiene practices
Learners are encouraged to adhere to the following dress code, when attending the course.
No slippers, ensure long hairs are tied up and no nail polish.
The learners have to be mindful of their capability and understanding of food safety practices when deciding on the options of the course that they are applying for. The learners will not receive training grants from Skills Future Singapore (SSG) in the event they fail the assessment and have to re-take the same course again.
Course Duration: 7.5 Hours. 6 Hours online learning via Zoom and 1.5 Hours assessment at our venue.
1.5 Day course. 100% Attendance is required.
Assessment Format and Duration: MCQ – 50 mins, Short Answer Questions – 10 mins. Practical – 30 mins.
Passing criteria: If the trainee fails to meet any of the requirements listed below, they will be considered NYC (Not Yet Competent) and will be required to retake the course.
Written Assessment: A candidate is deemed competent upon achieving a “C” for all questions.
Practical Assessment: A candidate is deemed competent upon achieving a “C” for all questions.
