Food Safety Courses - FSL1A - Food Safety Course Level 1 (Assessment Only Pathway)

About The Course

The Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) is a training option offered by SSG which allows individuals to obtain WSQ qualification by only undergoing the assessment without attending training.

To qualify for the Assessment Only Pathway option, first timers who have not passed Food Safety Course Level 1 (or former Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures / Basic Food Hygiene Course) would be required to produce documentation showing that they have some prior training in food safety. Acceptable documentation could include certificates, academic transcripts, training materials, courseware etc. that are related to food safety or food hygiene, reflecting that the individual has attended the course.

Learners are encouraged to adhere to the following dress code, when attending the course.
No slippers, ensure long hairs are tied up and no nail polish.  
The learners have to be mindful of their capability and understanding of food safety practices when deciding on the options of the course that they are applying for. The learners will not receive training grants from Skills Future Singapore (SSG) in the event they fail the assessment and have to re-take the course again.

Assessment Duration: 1.5 Hours.  
Assessment Format and Duration: MCQ – 50 mins, Short Answer Questions – 10 mins. Practical – 30 mins

Passing criteria: If the trainee fails to meet any of the requirements listed below, they will be considered NYC (Not Yet Competent) and will be required to retake the course.
Written Assessment: A candidate is deemed competent upon achieving a “C” for all questions.
Practical Assessment: A candidate is deemed competent upon achieving a “C” for all questions.
