About The Course
Course Aim:
Provide Guard and Patrol Services (L1) is a basic module for Security Officer (SO) where the course equips the officers with basic skills and knowledge such as clocking, visitor management, vehicle management and identifying security threat.
Access Control Management (L2) aims to equip learners with the basic knowledge and skills required to harness technology to enhance their productivity and effectiveness in handling the various situations or incidences when carrying out security duties.
Course Contents: The integrated course content comprises of 7 Learning Units (LUs) in which each LU will encompass a range of Learning Objectives (LOs) in sequential order.
1. LU1: Prepare for Duty
2. LU2: Access Control at Premises
3. LU3: Static Guard Duties at the Guard House
4. LU4: Attend to Phone Calls
5. LU5: Patrolling Duties
6. LU6: Intrusion Alarm Duties in Control Room
7. LU7: Report off Duties
Applicants should preferably: • Be above 18 years of age; • Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2. • Secondary or lower education • Physically fit for the role
Medium of Instruction: English. 100% course attendance is mandatory. Passing Criteria: Practical and oral Assessment – 100%
Course Duration: 26 hours, inclusive of 2 hours assessment • Classroom Facilitation – 5.hrs (comprises of Lecture and Discussion) • Practical Performance – 19 hours (comprises of Role Plays and Simulations) • Assessment – 2 hours (comprises of Practical Performance – Role Plays and simulations, and Oral Questioning) • Assessment will be conducted by an independent assessor (examiner) from *POLWEL (*Police Welfare Co-operative).
