Course Aim:
The aim of the course is to train new cleaners / existing cleaners in applying the basic hard floor and carpet surfaces surface maintenance in environmental services industry.
Course content:
LU1 Prepare for cleaning activities;
LU2 Remove spillage and impacted soilage from hard floor surfaces.
LU3 Remove loose dust and debris from hard floor surfaces;
LU4 Perform mopping of hard floor surfaces
LU5 Remove spillage and stains from carpets;
LU6 Remove loose dust and debris from carpets
LU7 Reinstate work area
Target Audience: The job role(s)/ occupations that this unit would be relevant may include those are currently or looking for job opportunities as a general cleaner in the environment services industry.
Learner’s profile: Applicants should preferably: a) be above 18 years of age; b) Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2. c) Secondary or lower education d) Minimum 3 months of relevant work experience.
Course Duration: 21.75 Hours (including assessment), 2.5 Days course.
100% Attendance is required. Assessment Format & Duration - Practical Performance –75 mins, Oral Questioning: 15 mins for each participant. Passing criteria: Practical and Oral assessment – 100%
