Security Courses - SSURMGT - Security Surveillance Management (Perform Remote Surveillance Function)

About The Course

Course Aim:
A competent learner will be able to perform remote access surveillance functions using security software programs and equipment. The course will impart the knowledge and skills for individuals to perform security surveillance duties at any assigned workplace. This is one of the mandatory courses required for individual to promote to Security Progressive Wage Model (PWM) grade of Senior Security Officer (SSO) under Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).

Course Content:
The course content comprises of 4 Learning Units (LUs) in which each LU will encompass a range of Learning Objectives (LOs) in sequential order.
LU 1: Commence Duty at Control Room:
LO1: Operate remote surveillance equipment in accordance to organization operating procedures,
LO2: Carry out basic troubleshooting and report equipment faults to Supervisor.

LU2: Identify areas prone to security risks:
LO3: Operate surveillance software systems to identify areas of activities that may be of high risk to abnormal behaviors.

LU3: Security alert in the surveillance system at the site:
LO4: Analyze behaviors and/or situations to detect security incidents,
LO5: Report abnormal behaviors remotely using software systems to the management,
LO6: Report details of situations to appropriate authorities using software systems,
LO7: Escalate situations to enforcement teams to carry out appropriate action,
LO8: Complete relevant documentation relating to remote surveillance operations.

LU4: Actions to be taken when a security alert is raised:
LO9: Analyze behaviors and/or situations to detect security incidents,
LO10: Report details of situations to appropriate authorities using software systems,
LO11: Escalate situations to enforcement teams to carry out appropriate action,
LO12: Complete relevant documentation relating to remote surveillance operations

Applicants should preferably: • Be above 18 years of age; • Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2. • Secondary or lower education• Physically fit for the role.

Course Duration: Total training hours (13.5 Hours, inclusive of 1.5 Hours assessment), Classroom Facilitation – 2 Hours (comprises of Lecture and Discussion), Practical Performance – 10 Hours (comprises of Role Plays and Simulations).
Assessment – 1.5 Hours (comprises of 60 mins Practical Performance – Role Plays and simulations, and 30 mins Oral Questioning). Day 1: 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 2: 9 AM to 3.30 PM. Assessment will be conducted by an independent assessor (examiner) from *POLWEL (*Police Welfare Co-operative) Medium of Instruction: English. 100% course attendance is mandatory. Passing Criteria: Practical and oral Assessment – 100%
