Course Aim
The learner will be able to understand the importance of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and able to identify the common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry. The learner will be able to report unsafe working conditions or work practices in accordance with organisational procedures.
Course content
LO1 Understand the importance of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) (Knowledge1 Importance of WSH)
LO2 Identify the common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry (Knowledge3 Common risks and hazards involved in environmental services industry)
LO3 Follow WSH risk control measures within the work area. (Ability1 Follow WSH practices to prevent accidents or minimise risks)(Knowledge4 WSH risk control measures)
LO4 Report unsafe working conditions or work practices in accordance with organisational procedures. (Knowledge2 Organisational reporting procedures for WSH related matters) (Ability2 Identify the unsafe acts or conditions present in the work environment) (Ability3 Report to supervisor unsafe acts or conditions)
Target Audience: Anyone who wants to work in cleaning sector.
Learner’s profile: Applicants should preferably: a) be above 18 years of age; b) Able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification Workplace Literacy Level (WPL) 2. c) Secondary or lower education d) Minimum 3 months of relevant work experience.
100% Attendance is required. Passing criteria: Practical and Oral assessment – 100%
Course Duration: 8.5 Hours, Day 1 – 9 AM to 6 PM; Day 2 - Assessment – 0.5 hour (each participant)
