Course Contents:
Learning objectives of the course:
1. Select an appropriate MEWP, including risk assessment for the task to be carried out
2. State the safety requirements under the workplace safety and health act and the Code of practice for working safely at height related to MEWP
3. Carry out pre start inspection
4. State factors affecting stability
5. Identify common hazards during traveling, setup, operation and parking of MEWP and their control measure
6. Conduct workplace inspection
7. State function of all MEWP controls, including emergency controls and emergency procedures.
8. Use personal protective equipment appropriate to the task, worksite and environment as a result of the Risk assessment conducted and according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
9. Operate MEWP safely
Learners are expected to be 18 years old and above.
Course Duration and Exam format:
9 Hours; 8:00am to 6:30pm (Class might end between 6:30pm & 8:30pm, depending upon practical assessment timings).
Learning hours:
7 hrs 45 mins; Assessment – 1 hr 15mins;
(Written, 30 MCQ, – 45mins;
Practical Performance – 30mins
Passing marks:
Written Assessment – 80%
Practical Performance – 100%
WSQ (SOA) Statement of Attainment (e-certificate) will be issued for the courses conducted in English only.
